White Sox acquire Johnny Cueto from Triple-A

The Chicago White Sox purchased the contract of Johnny Cueto from Triple-A Charlotte, and he’s set to start Monday against Kansas City.

Cueto was last a member of the San Francisco Giants since the 2016 season before signing a minor league contract last month.

The 36-year-old right-hander posted a 5.17 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 17/4 K/BB ratio across 15 2/3 innings (four starts) this season at Triple-A Charlotte.

Cueto could be a possible DFS option if available, especially since he’s facing a poor hitting Royals ball club.
