The Washington Nationals recalled 21-year-old shortstop C.J. Abrams from Triple-A Rochester.
Abrams was moved to the Nationals as part of the huge Juan Soto deal, and he’s set to make his team debut Monday against the Chicago Cubs.
The young prospect was hitting .232/.285/.320 with two homers and one steal across 139 plate appearances with the Padres.
He should be able to settle in with Washington, who virtually have nothing to play for the rest of this season with a league worst 38-78 record.
