The New York Yankees placed Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day injury list with left Achilles tendinitis.

Stanton was expected to return to the starting lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Mets, but instead lands on the injured list with an Achilles issue after missing three of the team’s five contests since the All-Star break.

The 32-year-old’s slashed .228/.309/.498 with 40 runs scored, 24 home runs and 61 RBI across 328 plate appearances this season.

Achilles injuries are usually unpredictable, so it’s not clear how long Stanton will be sidelined with the issue.

The Yankees are still atop of the AL East standings with a 66-31 record, but they’re 5-5 in their last 10 games.

Fantasy managers will have to try and seek out a replacement with a big void to fill as long as Stanton’s out.
