Giants place Sterling Shepard on PUP list

USA Today

The New York Giants have placed wide receiver Sterling Shepard on the physically unable to perform list ahead of training camp.

Shepard has been sidelined since last season after suffering an Achilles injury back in December.

NBC noted that the 29-year-old resumed jogging last month, but clearly he’s not near a return to the field.

Since signing a four-year, $41 million contract in 2019, Shepard’s since restructured his contract in both 2021 and 2022.

Hopefully, he can return to the field for the Giants sooner than later, especially if he hopes for a new deal in the future.

New York also placed linemen Nick Gates (leg) and Matt Peart (ACL) on PUP/active list as well.
