According to the Athletic, Juan Soto has rejected a whopping 15-year, $440 million offer from the Washington Nationals.

Wow, this is shocking.

Also according to the report, the Nationals will now consider trade offers after Soto rejected the team’s offer.

Soto most recently signed a one-year, $17.1 million contract with Washington to avoid arbitration in March.

It’s an interesting move from the 23-year-old’s camp, as the offer would have been the highest-paid contract in MLB history.

Soto will not be a free agent until the 2025 season, but it looks like he wants to see what else is out there before inking a long-term deal.
