Gleyber Torres is back in the New York Yankees lineup Wednesday against the Oakland A’s.
Torres will start at second base and bat fifth in the lineup against pitcher Cole Irvin after missing a couple of games with a mild ankle sprain and lingering wrist discomfort.
In 249 plate appearances on the year, Torres is slashing .250/.302/.487 with 13 homers, 33 runs, and 32 RBI.
Teammate Anthony Rizzo is not in the lineup Wednesday afternoon likely for some rest after getting hit by a pitch on his elbow Monday.
