Kansas City Royals rookie shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. remains out of the lineup Thursday with an ailing hand injury.
Witt has been out since Tuesday night after taking a pitch off his right hand in the ninth inning against the Astros.
Although the X-rays came back negative, it sounds like the 22-year-old could still be dealing with discomfort.
Witt Jr. has been very solid in his rookie campaign, and he’s complied 12 home runs, 42 RBI, 12 steals, and 43 runs scored in 77 games.
With Witt out, Nicky Lopez will get another start at shortstop and bat eighth in the lineup today against Houston.
