Milwaukee Bucks big man Bobby Portis has informed the team that he’ll decline his $4.6 million player option for 2022-23 and become a free agent.
Portis could see decent contract offers from multiple teams, and he has the possibility to remain with Milwaukee on a new deal as well.
Since Portis has early Bird rights in with the Bucks, the max he can sign to remain with the team is four years, $49 million.
The deal also would also need to be for at least two seasons.
Either way, the 27-year-old will test free agency in what continues to be a very busy NBA offseason.
Portis averaged a near double-double last season with 14.6 points and 9.1 rebounds across 72 games.
