Tottenham sells 66K tickets in 25 minutes for first game in South Korea featuring Son Heung-min

Tottenham sold a major 66,000 tickets in just 25 minutes for their first ever game in South Korea, where hometown fans will watch native Son Heung-min.

The Premier League club are scheduled to travel to South Korea in July, where they will compete in two friendly matches against a K League XI and Sevilla.

The contest with Team K League, which is part of the Coupang Play Series, has been the hottest ticket in town as they take the field at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Son Heung-min is currently one of the top Premier League players, and he’s returning to his hometown where he’s the poster boy of the sport and hometown hero.

Heung-min was awarded South Korea’s highest sporting honor on Thursday, June 2 after the Tottenham forward became the first Asian player to win the Premier League Golden Boot.

The Golden Boot Winner has compiled 93 goals and 46 assists across 232 appearances since joining the Premier League.

Hotspur Stadium has noticed a huge rise in South Korea flags around the ground at matches, as Korean fans flock to London to watch their 29-year-old hero in action.

The match between Tottenham and the group of Korea’s best from their professional league takes place on July 13.
