The Arizona Cardinals extended head coach Kill Kingsbury and general manager Steve Keim to contract extensions.
Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill was reportedly “very, very upset” with the Cardinals downfall and the end of the 2021 season, but it seems he’s happy with his staff.
Both Kingsbury and Keim are now officially under contract through 2027 with the finances undisclosed.
Kingsbury, now 42-years-old, has been Arizona’s head coach since 2019 marking three seasons with the franchise posting a sub-par 24–24–1 regular season record.
Keim has been the Cardinals’ general manager since 2013 after spending 14 seasons in the Cardinals front office.
Although these two have been extended, the most important piece of the puzzle is disgruntled quarterback Kyler Murray.
Murray, through his agent, stated that he wants to remain with the team but wants a substantial contract extension.
The 24-year-old is the 18th highest-paid quarterback in the NFL carrying a salary cap hit of $11,386,841 entering the 2022 season.
