Las Vegas lost seven figures on what might have been the showdown of the century on Monday night between the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs.
The Rams barely outlasted the Chiefs 54-51, and the game opened with the highest over/under set in NFL history at 64.
“A spokesperson for William Hill, which operates more than 100 sports books in Nevada, told ESPN’s Ben Fawkes that company took a “healthy seven-figure lossâ€Â when the game breezed by the total,” reported by Frank Schwab of Yahoo Sports.
Hill also stated that 69% of bettors took the over, which gave plenty of payouts to happy customers.
Although Vegas may have lost big on Monday night, they’ll make that money back eventually especially with sports betting being legal.
