Canelo Álvarez has signed the richest contract in sport history with DAZN, a streaming service, worth $365 million.

DAZN launched in the US in September, and it will look to fill the void in the boxing market after HBO announced it will end its boxing broadcasting at the end of 2018 after 45 years.

Álvarez’s next ordered match is against Britain’s Rocky Fielding on December 15 at Madison Square Garden.

“The most important thing to me was being able to give the fans the opportunity to see me fight without having to pay the $70 or $80 for my fights on pay-per-view,” 28-year-old Álvarez told ESPN. “That was the most important thing, more important than what I am making.

The previous richest contract was held by New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton ($325 million).
