The Miami Dolphins surprisingly released running back Sony Michel Monday.
Michel totaled 973 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns last season with the Rams, so the move is unexpected.
It’s unclear what approach Miami will use in the backfield with Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert, Myles Gaskin, and Salvon Ahmed still on the roster.
Either way, Michel should find a new home before the upcoming start of the 2022 season.
Back in May, the 27-year-old signed a one-year $1.75 million contract with the Dolphins.
