The NBA is expected to investigate potential tampering on the part of the Philadelphia 76ers for their recent signing of forward P.J. Tucker.

It was reported several days in advance to the opening of the free agency period that Tucker was going to sign with the Sixers.

Tucker’s agreement with the Sixers on a three-year, $33 million deal was one of the first reported when the period first opened on June 30.

In previous years, the NBA has punished the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks for coming to terms with early agreements with multiple free agents, and each team was forced to forfeit a second-round pick.

The NBA is also expected to investigate whether the Knicks tampered with Jalen Brunson when he was with the Mavs as free agent this summer.
