According to the New York Post, the Mets see the injury list as a likelihood for Starling Marte due to his injured left quad.
Marte left Tuesday night’s game against the Padres with to left quad tightness and got sent in for an MRI.
Apparently the Mets are anticipating that the imaging tests will reveal a strain of some sort, and the results should be revealed at some point Wednesday.
The 33-year-old was off to a hot 2022 campaign, slashing .277/.316/.441 with 36 runs scored, seven home runs, 33 RBI, and eight steals.
Teammate Pete Alonso was also sent for an MRI Tuesday night after taking a pitch off his right hand out.
