Third baseman Nolan Arenado is out of the St. Louis Cardinals lineup Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Arenado got hit in the leg by a pitch on Tuesday night, but this could be a scheduled day of rest for the 31-year-old who’s played in 54 of a possible 56 games played this season.
Arenado’s off to yet another solid season, batting .272/.344/.485 with 25 runs scored, 10 home runs, and 39 RBI.
Brendan Donovan will cover take over at third and bat fifth for St. Louis Wednesday evening.
Corey Kluber will be starting on the mound for the Rays, who carries a 2-2 record with a 3.73 ERA.
