Manchester City reaches agreement with Erling Haaland

Marca

Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign 21-year-old Norway striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland will move to Manchester City this summer after they activated a £63.2m release clause in his contract.

“We can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland,” the club stated.

“The transfer remains subject to the club finalizing terms with the player.”

Haaland scored 85 goals in 88 appearances for Dortmund since joining from Red Bull Salzburg in January of 2020.

La Liga clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona also spoke to Haaland about a potential deal, but ultimately he opted for a move to Etihad Stadium.
