Minnesota Twins first baseman Miguel Sano has been placed on the 10-day injury list with a left knee sprain.
Sano left Saturday’s game against Tampa Bay with left knee soreness and clearly didn’t heal much over the weekend.
Luis Arráez will take over as Minnesota’s primary first baseman for the near future with rookie Jose Miranda getting called up to take his active roster spot.
Sano had been struggling at the dish so far in 2022, slashing a poor .093/.231/.148, which are all career-lows.
The 28-year-old is making a salary of $9,500,000 this season and has a club option on his contract for 2023. where he could potentially earn $14,250,000.
