The Las Vegas Raiders signed quarterback Derek Carr to a three-year, $121.5 million contract extension.
Carr was entering the final year of his original five-year, $125 million contract that he signed in 2017, but now he’s locked in for the next four seasons.
It’s an interesting move from the Raiders, especially since they’ll be under a new offense led by new head coach Josh McDaniels.
With the acquisition of Davante Adams this offseason, Carr has a big spotlight lit on him this season after getting bounced out of the first round of the playoffs in 2021.
The 31-year-old posted a 10-7 QB record last season and threw for 4,804 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.
Las Vegas will face tough battles throughout the AFC West in the upcoming years against quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and now Russell Wilson.
