The New York Jets have ruled out starting quarterback Sam Darnold for week eleven with an ailing shoulder injury.

Head coach Adam Gase said Darnold will be on a “interval throwing program,” but the team won’t place him on injured reserve.

Strange statement from Gase, but the team is moving with precaution instead of rushing Darnold back to game speed.

Joe Flacco will continue to start at quarterback in Darnold’s absence.
