After recently acquiring Matt Olson from Oakland, the Braves have signed him to an eight-year, $168 million contract.
The extension comes with a $20 million option for 2030, and Olson will make $15 million this season, $21 million in 2023, and $22 million annually over the remainder of his contract.
Olson, a two-time Golden Glove Award winner, certainly bolsters the Braves lineup for the franchise’s future in the upcoming years.
The 27-year-old posted a .271/.371/.540 triple-slash line with a career-high 39 homers and four stolen bases in 673 plate appearances last season.
