Jamal Murray could return to the Denver Nuggets in time for the playoffs according to a report by Sam Amick of The Athletic.
Both Murray (ACL) and teammate Michael Porter Jr. (back) are trending in the right direction to return to the floor.
Sam Amick spoke on the two star players:
“A source with knowledge of Porter Jr.’s status said the 23-year-old is on track to return in mid- to late March. Murray’s timeline, meanwhile, is harder to handicap. Though his teammates have been given the impression he’s also likely to return in time for the playoffs, the combination of the severity of his injury and the sensitivity with which the Nuggets have handled his recovery means the team will handle the final stages of his process with the utmost care.”
Murray has been sidelined since April of last season when he suffered the ACL injury.
Earlier this month, news broke out that Porter Jr. would return since being out since November after a successful lower back surgery.
Murray and Porter Jr. clearly have the capabilities to help the Nuggets push forward in the playoffs, but it’ll be interesting to see how the team handles their workloads in a tough NBA playoff run.
The Nuggets are riding a six-game win streak and are currently tied for fifth in the Western Conference with a 36-25 record.
