According to The Athletic, the Houston Rockets intend to hold out Christian Wood until after the All-Star break.
Wood hasn’t played since February 4 since suffering an ankle injury, and he’s missed the last nine games for Houston.
The breakout star was averaging 22.0 points and 10.2 rebounds in a little over 31 minutes per game this season.
If it were up to Wood, he’d like to return to the floor before the All-Star break, but the team wants to play the side of caution with the 25-year-old.
The Rockets have four more games before the All-Star break, and they’re on a nine-game losing streak since he’s been out of the lineup.
With DeMarcus Cousins being released, Wood will have a gigantic role for the Rockets when he returns.
