The San Diego Padres acquired starting pitcher Joe Musgrove from the Pittsburgh Pirates in a three-team, six player deal.

Pittsburgh will receive prospects OF Hudson Head, P Omar Cruz, and RP Drake Bednar.

The Mets are also involved in the trade, and they’ll receive Joey Lucchesi.

Musgrove had a 3.86 ERA and 1.235 WHIP last season in 39 2/3 innings pitched with the Pirates.

San Diego is bulking up their starting pitching rotation, as they recently acquired Blake Snell and Yu Darvish.

Musgrove signed a one-year, $4.45 million contract last week to avoid arbitration.
