Falcons hire Terry Fontenot as general manager

USA Today Sports

The Atlanta Falcons hired former Saints vice president and assistant general manager Terry Fontenot as the team’s next general manager.

Fontenot spent the last 18 years with New Orleans, and this past season was his first as the vice president and assistant GM for pro personnel.

He’ll be facing tough decisions in the near future, especially with a soon to be 36-year-old franchise quarterback in Matt Ryan.

Atlanta may be starting to look elsewhere for a younger core, and Fontenot will be the driver behind the process.
