A’s release Elvis Andrus

San Francisco Chronicle

The Oakland A’s released shortstop Elvis Andrus Wednesday as they continue to lose games.

Currently with the second-most losses (75) across the league, they seem to be in tank mode with the release of Andrus and Stephen Piscotty yesterday.

Andrus, who turns 34 next week, was slashing .237/.301/.373 with eight homers, 30 RBI, 41 runs, and seven steals in 106 games this season.

The 13-year veteran was earning a salary of $6.75 million for 2022 after joining the team via trade last season.
