The Houston Rockets and point guard Kevin Porter Jr. have expressed mutual interest in a contract extension, according to The Athletic.
Porter Jr. is entering the final year of his rookie contract, where he’ll earn $3,217,631 for the upcoming season.
The 22-year-old has been a huge part of the Rockets’ offense the last couple of seasons, although they’ve dead last in league standings the last two seasons.
Porter averaged 15.6 points per game last season to go along with 4.4 rebounds and 6.2 assists.
To improve his game, the young guard needs to work heavily on both his free throws and turnovers to become even more successful.
