The Chicago Cubs placed starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder strain.
Hendricks exited his start Tuesday night against the Brewers after dealing with right shoulder discomfort, and he underwent an MRI on Wednesday morning that revealed the strain.
The 32-year-old had been off to a shaky beginning to the 2022 season, posting a 4-6 record with a 4.80 ERA and allowing 15 home runs across 84.1 innings pitched.
It’s unclear exactly how long Hendricks will be sidelined, but could be out until after the August 2 trade deadline.
The Cubs are currently fourth in the NL Central with a 33-48 record.
