Shortstop C.J. Abrams could be re-joining the Padres soon depending on the severity of Manny Machado’s ankle injury.
Abrams was pulled from the lineup at Triple-A El Paso on Sunday, with indications that he could be back with the team soon.
It’s not fully clear yet whether or not he’ll be back in the majors just yet, and it appears to be a day-to-day situation for the near future.
The 21-year-old has slashed .314/.364/.507 with seven homers, 28 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 30 games at Triple-A El Paso.
