The NFL fined Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera $100,000 “due to excessive contact in practice drills” during OTAs.
The league is also cutting two OTA practices for the team in 2023 along with the fine.
It seems like the NFL is looking for franchises to ease off on intense OTA and minicamp practices, but the league’s old school coaches haven’t seem to get the memo.
Houston Texans recently hired head coach Lovie Smith was also fined $50,000 for conducting prohibited one-on-one drills between offensive and defensive linemen.
Washington can’t seem to do anything right, especially with allegations still looming from team owner Daniel Snyder.
Last week, Rivera fined defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio for $100,000 for his comments about the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
