Golden State Warriors 5x All-Star Klay Thompson underwent surgery to repair his ruptured Achilles on Wednesday.
Thompson missed the 2019-20 season with a torn ACL, and will likely be sidelined for the entire upcoming season.
The Warriors acquired Kelly Oubre from OKC, a huge add to fill the void while Thompson is out.
They will also be with Kent Bazemore, a former Warrior now reuniting with his old ball club.
Golden State filed for a disabled player exception due to Thompson’s injury, which would be worth approximately $9.3 million and would allow the Warriors to acquire a player without using additional cap room.
