The New York Mets placed outfielder Starling Marte on the bereavement leave list prior to Monday’s postponed game against the Cardinals.
Although the move was annoucned today, it was made yesterday before the rainout of the Mets’ matchup with St. Louis.
Marte could be away from the team for at least the next few days being placed on the list.
The 33-year-old has opened his first season with the Mets very well batting .266 with 20 runs, 20 RBI, three homers, and five stolen bases across 139 at bats.
