Jacob deGrom to undergo additional MRI next week

New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom will undergo a follow-up MRI on Monday to further examine his right shoulder.

Mets manager Buck Showalter told reporters that “everything’s going real well,” in regards to deGrom’s recovery.

deGrom has been sidelined since March after suffering a a stress reaction on his right scapula.

The 33-year-old is expected to be sidelined for a few more weeks before being cleared to start a throwing program, and there should be some clarity on his status after the MRI.
