The San Francisco Giants signed starting pitcher Carlos Rodon to a two-year, $44 million contract.
The deal includes an opt-out after the first season according to ESPN, and the left-hander will receive $21.5 million in 2022 and $22.5 million in 2023.
Rodon may have been the best available free agent pitcher this offseason, especially after posting a 2.37 ERA last season over 132 2/3 innings with 185 strikeouts.Â
The 29-year-old should have no problem getting acquainted in San Francisco’s least friendly home run Oracle Park.
