The National Football League announced Monday that the salary cap for the 2022 season will be set at $208.2 million.
The $25.7 million increase from 2020 is the largest single-year jump in the salary cap era.
The jump is set high, but it’s not a shocker with the cap decreasing by $15.7 million last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Free agency period begins March 14, so expect to see more franchise tags and cuts before the period hits.
