The Denver Nuggets are planning to send Michael Porter Jr. to the Grand Rapids of the G-League to scrimmage with later this week.
This is positive news for Denver since Porter Jr. has been out since November 2021 after undergoing surgery on his lower back.
Although the 23-year-old is nearing a return, the Nuggets will likely ease him back on a restriction to finish out the regular season ahead of the playoffs.
Denver is on a six-game win streak and are currently tied for fifth in the Western Conference with a 36-25 record.
In September 2021, Porter Jr. signed a five-year, $172,550,000 contract extension with the Nuggets.
