According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jimmy Garoppolo will undergo shoulder surgery and “still is likely to be traded this month.”
Schefter also stated that Garoppolo is expected to resume throwing before July 4th and added that there is “significant interest” in the quarterback from multiple teams.
Jimmy G threw for 3,810 yards and 20 touchdowns with a 9-6 QB record in 2021.
He also led the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance in 2020, so that should open the eyes of teams looking for a solid quarterback.
However, it’ll be known that he’s coming with a salary cap hit of $26,950,000 next season.
With Garoppolo most likely out the way, the Trey Lance era will begin in San Francisco.
