The Detroit Tigers placed catcher Wilson Ramos on the 10-day injured list with a lumbar spine strain.
Ramos suffered the injury during Thursday’s contest with the Red Sox.
Back injuries are no joke, so it’s not clear how long the Tigers will keep the 33-year-old sidelined.
Grayson Greiner will take Ramos’ spot at catcher, and the team recalled Jake Rogers to back him up for the near future.
Ramos signed a one-year, $2 million contract with Detroit back in January.
