The Kansas City Chiefs signed 28-year-old running back Jerick McKinnon Friday to add to their already talented backfield.
The details of the contract aren’t clear yet, but either way Kansas City is bolstering their roster yet again.
McKinnon is a good runner and great pass catcher out of the backfield, but only when he’s healthy.
He’s dealt with two torn grade 3 ACL injuries, a calf strain, and a sprained ankle since 2016.
McKinnon was a member of the San Francisco 49ers last season, where he ran for 319 yards at 3.9 yards per attempt with five touchdowns along with 253 receiving yards.
The Chiefs will likely use him as a rotational weapon and he’s pairing with Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Darrel Williams in the backfield.
