Cam Newton has re-signed with the New England Patriots on a one-year contract worth up to $14 million.
NFL Network reported that the contract includes a $2 million signing bonus and $1.5 million in guarantees.
The remaining $9 million in incentives will be earned if Newton makes the playoffs, becomes a Pro-Bowler, an All-Pro, MVP, and Super Bowl MVP.
Ridiculous incentives that are a long shot for the 31-year-old who struggled in his first season as a Patriot last year.
Newton completed just 65.8% of his passes in 2020 with 10 interceptions and only eight passing touchdowns.
It’s unclear if Newton will even be the starter, but he’s a very unattractive fantasy QB at this point.
