Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez was removed from Friday’s game against Cleveland with a right forearm contusion.
Baez was struck by a fastball from Cal Quantrill and was in some noticeable pain.
He’s tough, so the Cubs taking him out of the game is strictly for precaution.
The 28-year-old may miss a game or two before returning to the lineup.
Baez is the 11th overall rated shortstop for the upcoming MLB fantasy season on CBS’ overall projection list.
He signed a one-year, $11,650,000 contract with Chicago in January for 2021 to avoid arbitration, and he’ll become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
A big pay day is coming the 28-year-old.
