Tampa Bay Buccaneers GM Jason Licht said “it’s a possibility” that the team extends Tom Brady this offseason.
Licht spoke on Brady on the Rich Eisen show on Wednesday:
“He certainly didn’t look like he slowed down any this year. We’ll have to see how that goes. He really had a good time this year winning the Super Bowl. Likes our organization, likes our coaches, and we certainly love him. We’d like to keep this going.”
Brady is owed $25 million for the 2021 season before becoming a free agent next offseason.
Now aged 43, Brady has specified that he wants to play until he’s at least 45-year-old, so it’s possible that Tampa Bay gives him a one-year extension this offseason.
NBC reported that the Bucs can also clear cap space by converting some of Brady’s 2021 salary into a bonus.
