According to the NJ Advance Media, New York Yankees second baseman DJ LeMahieu is asking for a 5-year $125 million deal from the team.
The two sides are discussing a deal, but they remain millions apart in their contract negotiations.
New York is unwilling to commit to a fifth year for the 32-year-old infielder, but each side will likely reach an agreement.
LeMahieu hit .364/.421/.590 last season with 10 home runs and 27 RBI.
