Richard Sherman doesn’t expect to re-sign with San Francisco

USA Today Sports

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman says he doesn’t expect to re-sign with the team.

Sherman said his doubts about remaining with the 49ers are based on the salary cap and conversations with the team.

According to Rotoworld, San Francisco is expected to to prioritize extensions for LT Trent Williams and LB Fred Warner this offseason.

The 32-year-old missed nine games this season with an ailing calf injury, and he’s on the final year of his 3-year, $27,150,000 contract he signed with the 49ers in 2018.

Sherman will likely hit the free agent market, and should see interest from teams in need of secondary help.
