James McCann agrees to 4-year deal with the Mets

USA Today Sports

The New York Mets and free agent catcher James McCann have agreed to a 4-year contract worth approximately $40 million.

According to MLB.com, the deal is nearly finished pending a physical.

McCann slashed .289/.360/.536 with seven home runs and 15 RBI in 111 plate appearances last season.

Although they’ve signed McCann, the Mets are still pursuing other free agents this offseason, particularly 3x All Star George Springer.
