The Atlanta Braves signed 37-year-old starting pitcher Charlie Morton to a one-year, $15 million contract.
Morton joins a rotation featuring Max Fried, Drew Smyly, and Ian Anderson.
Atlanta lost Marcell Ozuna in free agency, but signing Morton gives them hope again to claim a back-to-back NL East title if he can perform like he did in 2019.
Morton had a 2-2 record in a shortened 2020 season with a high 4.74 ERA in 38.0 innings pitched.
