San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will be sidelined indefinitely with an ongoing ankle sprain.

Garoppolo will likely be headed to injured reserve for the upcoming weeks as he’ll seek a doctor’s opinion on whether or not he requires season-ending surgery.

Nick Mullens will likely be the starter for San Francisco for now, and the team’s season is in jeopardy will their injuries piling up.

George Kittle is also out for a minimum eight weeks.
