The Colorado Rockies have shut down starting pitcher Jon Gray for the rest of the season.

Gray was placed on the injured list on September 4 due to shoulder inflammation, but manager Bud Black said it’s out of time to make a recovery.

Gray finishes the season with a scary 6.69 ERA in eight starts in 39 innings.
