The Los Angeles Angels and OF Mike Trout are nearing a record-breaking 12-year extension worth more than $430 million.
Trout’s deal would blow away Bruce Harper’s recent $330M contract as the largest contract in professional sports history.
The deal would be the highest average annual value ever at roughly $36 million, topping Zack Greinke’s $34.4 million.
Trout was due to become a free agent after 2020 season but the Angels didn’t want to allow that to happen.
