The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed LT Donovan Smith to a 3-year, $41.25 million contract.
Smith, who was franchise tagged Monday, ended up signing an extension that includes $27 million guaranteed.
The No. 34 overall pick of the 2015 draft has never missed a start, but he has also never been an above-average offensive lineman.
The Bucs are paying a premium for Smith’s availability. At age 26 (in June), there time for Smith to improve his game.
